The types of apprenticeships we offer
At FDQ our qualifications sit within all 6 of the frameworks appropriate to the food and drink industry, these are:
- the food and drink framework
- the management framework
- the customer service framework
- the business and administration framework
- the logistics operations framework
- the cleaning and environmental services framework

Food and drink framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR00890
The food and drink framework provides knowledge and skills for apprenticeships in all the sectors which make up the food and drink industry such as: meat and poultry; fish and shellfish; brewing; dairy; fresh produce; milling and baking.
There are a wide range of general roles which are covered within this framework, such as: process operative; production controller and technical manager. Along with these, this apprenticeship framework is suitable for more specific roles such as: slaughter operative; miller; cake decorator; confectioner and butcher.
The Higher Framework (level 4) offers knowledge and skills for more advanced roles, such as organisational development and continuous improvement.
The framework is offered at levels 2, 3 and 4.

Management framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR01135
This framework is designed to meet the skills needs of employers of all sizes across the public, private and not-for profit sectors. It will attract new talent into management and help up-skill the workforce to replace those who leave or retire.
Intermediate apprentices will work in job roles such as first line, section, assistant or trainee managers, senior supervisors and team leaders. Those undertaking the Higher Apprenticeship will work in job roles such as managers, senior managers, directors and heads of departments.
This framework includes levels 2, 3 and 5.

Customer service framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR01133
The customer service intermediate and advanced apprenticeships in England respond to the employer need for high levels of customer service skills within a wide range of organisations. Customer service skills are transferable across sectors and can be applied to many job roles. The apprenticeships are primarily aimed at individuals whose job role is dedicated to customer service as an occupation, for example intermediate apprentices may be customer service trainees, assistants and representatives/agents, whilst advanced apprentices may be customer relationship managers, co-ordinators and team leaders.
Many employers also select the customer service apprenticeships to complement an individual’s technical skills, for example intermediate apprentices may also be trainee butchers, bakers, fish processors working in a customer-facing role. Alternatively, advanced apprentices may be supervisors, team leaders or front line managers in a customer-facing role.
This framework includes levels 2 and 3.

Business and administration framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR01146
Around 4.5 million people help to keep businesses running in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. This framework is designed to meet the skills needs of employers by attracting new talent into a career in Business & Administration and help to up skill the workforce to replace those who leave and retire. Intermediate apprentices will work in roles such as administrators, office juniors, receptionists, medical receptionists, junior legal secretaries or junior medical secretaries.
Advanced apprentices will work in roles such as administration executives, administration team leaders, personal assistants or secretaries. Higher apprentices will work in roles such as office managers, administration team leaders, personal assistants of business development executives.
This framework includes levels 2, 3 and 4.

Logistics operations framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR01003
Logistics employers need to attract new talent into the industry, especially women and those from under-represented groups, to replace those who leave or retire.
This apprenticeship has been designed to attract those who are not sure which part of the logistics sector suits them best and allows them to obtain the basic grounding before specialising. This will encourage both apprentices and existing staff to move on to gain a level 3 qualification in logistics operations or another aspect of logistics to help increase productivity and profitability.
Intermediate apprentices work in all areas of the sector to gain experience and prepare them for further development. Logistics operations advanced apprentices work as warehouse team leaders, section supervisors, responsible for improving team performance, health and safety, customer service and scheduling the movement of goods by road, rail, sea and air.
This framework includes levels 2 and 3.

Cleaning and environmental services framework - Nation: England
Framework ID: FR01086
This level 2 apprenticeship has been designed with the help of employers to attract new people into the sector and to up skill the existing workforce with a level 2 qualification.
This apprenticeship has two pathways, cleaning and local environmental services. Cleaning covers a variety of job roles within a wide range of organisations. Job titles could include, for example: hygiene operative, specialist cleaner and window cleaner. Apprentices on this framework would often carry out cleaning and hygiene roles in food businesses.
This is available at level 2 only.
