Who are we?

FDQ is a specialised awarding and End-point Assessment Organisation for the Food and Drink Industry in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. With over 25 years of experience, we offer qualifications in Butchery, Bakery, Food Safety, HACCP, Allergen Awareness and more. FDQ also accredits bespoke training programmes tailored to business needs.
FDQ provides End-point Assessments (EPAs) for Food and Drink Apprenticeships, ensuring fair and flexible evaluations. FDQ's experienced examiners, sample questions and online testing platform (FDQAssess), support apprentices in meeting industry standards efficiently.

The Institute of Meat (IoM) now sister organisation to FDQ was introduced
1986

The Meat Training Council, a not-for-profit skills charity was formed
Food and Drink Qualification Ltd was created, John Herbert Alan Stevenson became the first Company Director
2005
2011
Bill Jermey is appointed as Director of Food and Drink Qualifications (FDQ)
FDQAwards was introduced by FDQ, a secure centre management system for approved FDQ centres
2013
Terry Fennell appointed as Group Operations Manager for the Food and Drink Training and Education Council (FTC)
2014
The Meat Training Council rebranded to Food and Drink Training and Education Council or now commonly known as FTC
2016
2017
Terry Fennell promoted to Chief Executive Officer and Responsible Officer for FDQ
FDQ introduced their first EPA Standard

Jane Downes appointed as Director of FDQ
