As our bakery and hospitality specialist, Sam’s expertise is a valued addition to the EPA team. After all, there aren’t many jobs in the hospitality industry that Sam hasn’t done herself at some point in her career! From head chef to baker, pâtissier to confectioner – and all this before going to work in further education. Here, she worked for 25 years as lead internal standards verifier, lecturer and finally Head of School for Leisure, Hospitality and Tourism. Now, Sam will be working with employers and training providers to co-ordinate a smooth end-point assessment experience for their apprentices. Or at least, this is what she’ll be doing Monday to Wednesday. After then you could bump into her in her capacity as External Quality Assurance Consultant for FDQ, a role she’s held for over seven years. Sam prides herself on building strong working relationships and says she is looking forward to working with FDQ customers old and new alike.
Never one to sit down for long, outside of work Sam is a bit of a modern jive aficionado and makes celebration cakes to order. Not at the same time mind.
