In 2023, results issue dates for VTQ and academic qualifications were aligned so
· Level 2 VTQ results were issued on the same day as GCSEs and
· Level 3 VTQ results were issued on the same day as A Levels.
This was an important step to ensure parity for VTQ students as they received the results needed to progress to next stage (of education or work) at the same time as academic students.
Ofqual recently announced that it will build on the success of the 2023 Results Issue with its plans for Level 2/CGSE and Level 3 /A Level results days for 2024.
You may have already received information from Ofqual setting out these plans:
FDQ is pleased to support Ofqual’s proposals to increase parity for VTQ students. FDQ staff will work with our centres to identify which students taking FDQ VTQs will need a result on or before the August 2024 Level 2/GCSE and Level 3/A Level results days for progression.
Future Communications
In the New Year, FDQ will issue further communications to our named Centre Contacts to explain the checkpoints (eg for registering learners) that Ofqual expects Awarding Organisations and centres to meet between now and August 2024.
The dates for this and other communications will be as follows:
03 April 2024 FDQ completes learner registration checks with centres
01st May 2024 Deadline for centre requests for external quality assurance
30th June 2024 Deadline by which all centres external quality assurance is complete
13th July 2024 Deadline for qualification certification claim date for level 3 qualifications
13th August 2024 FDQ to submit Ofqual completion data L3
21st July 2024 Deadline for qualification certification claim date for level 2 qualifications
21st August 2024 FDQ to submit Ofqual completion data L2
