Department for the Economy Minister, Conor Murphy to open FDQ's Northern Ireland Conference.




You heard it here first! FDQ are honoured and pleased to announce that the Department for the Economy Minister, Conor Murphy will kick off FDQ's free to attend Northern Ireland Conference, on the 22nd May 2024, with an opening address to all of those in attendance on the day.




 

As priority, the Minister will have a keen interest in discussing his 4 objectives published by the Department of the Economy, find out more here.

 

The Economy Minister also announced that he has appointed four independent experts, noted within the publication, to advise his Department on his four objectives. They are:

 

·   On Good Jobs, Dr Lisa Wilson from the Nevin Economic Research Institute.

·   On Regional Balance, Dr Conor Patterson from the Newry and Mourne Co-operative and Enterprise Agency.

·   On Productivity, Dr David Jordan from the Productivity Institute.

·   On Net Zero, Professor David Rooney from the Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy.

As you may already be aware, last month FDQ released their provisional agenda for the day (button below), the official schedule is due to be released before the end of this month (April). As a reminder, this is our second year running we have now hosted our very own conference in Northern Ireland and so we'd like to say a big thank you to College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise for hosting us for not only last year but for this year’s event too. The location of the event will be the same campus (Loughry Campus) as last year at the postcode for the event is BT80 9AA (full address found near the beginning of this email).

 

Doors open from 09:15am for refreshments and networking.
